Plastic Balls Introduce

Plastic balls are deal for light load bearings and flow control applications. Plastic balls are often used in the construction of office furniture and medical equipment because of their quiet operation. Plastic balls are often used extensively in pharmaceutical, food and chemical production.

Plastic balls are produced using standard and special polymer resins with diameters from 2.0 to 70.00 mm. and they can be used instead of stainless steel or steel balls in various industrial applications at lower cost than metal balls.

,

The most common applications include plastic bearings and rollers, ball bearings for furniture, micro-pumps for sprays, dispensers, pumps and valves, precision instruments, measurement and control equipment, photographic and pharmaceutical equipment, computers, conditioning and automation equipment, photocopiers and equipment for the industry.

,.

Plastic Balls have low friction and require virtually no lubrication. They are much lighter than metal balls and are resistant to corrosion and abrasion. Many plastics are also resistant to high temperatures up to 300°C.

Plastic balls offer above all the advantage of being very light, sinces their specific weight is very low. They are also highly resistant to heat and they provide smooth and silent running, totally noise and friction free. Unlike conventional metal balls they do not require lubrication,Another important feature is their excellent resistance to oxidation and abrasion and, therefore the use of these balls, even in very corrosive environments, allows long life of the component concerned. They also provide electrical and heat insulation and are not magnetic.

There are a variety of plastics available and each has different characteristics, so feel free to contact us and we will help you select the polymer best suited for your application and budget.

below for physical properties:

DELRIN Balls (ACETAL RESIN - POM) is similar to nylon but slightly harder and denser. Recommended for applications where these properties and low water absorption are required. Balls made of these materials are often used for sliding fittings of tables and drawers, furniture bearings, rollers, valves and electronic components, sailing boat fittings.

Polytetrafluorethylene Balls (Teflon®) Teflon are a well-known non-friction material which is resistant to most corrosive agents and is electrically nonconductive. Teflon is particularly suitable for use in apparatus designed to handle cryogenic liquids and acids. its properties remain at a useful level over a wide temperature range of -180°C to 250°C..

Polyethylene Balls(High Density) is an FDA approved plastic. It is more stress crack resistant than Polyethylene Low Density(LDPE).

Polypropylene Balls Excellent chemical resistance, low specific weight (less than water) and the highest melting point of thermoplastics. It is an excellent electrical insulator and has a low dielectric constant coefficient. It is often used where the capacity to float on fluids in general is required. It is ideal for equipment used for blood transfusions, level indicators and deodorant roll-on sticks. It is highly resistant to chemical substances, such as acids, alcalis, alcohols and many inorganic substances, saline solutions, solvents, gasoline (petrol), water, oils, greases, detergent, fruit juices and milk. It is not resistant to aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorates.

Nylon Balls (Zytel®, Polymide,PA)is used in check valves, light load bearings, knobs and toggle switches and other applications where low cost and resiliency are more important than hardness. Nylon has good resistance to alkalis, petroleum products and various mild chemicals.

Polyamide-imide Balls (Torlon) has one of the highest resistance to heat of all the plastics. It also has high strength, dimensional stability and impact resistance. It is designed for bearing and wear applications.

Acrylic Balls (Lucite, Plexiglass)has high optical quality and tensile strength. It also has a high resistance to heat distortion and has a highly polished finish.

Polyurethane Balls (PUR)are a relatively soft material that provides a good seal at low pressure in non return valves and excellent wear resistance. Polyurethane is not recommended for use with acids and alkalis.

PVC Balls .PVC is the most widely used member of the vinyl family. It is most commonly used in pipe and fittings. PVC offers excellent corrosion and weather resistance. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. PVC is also self-extinguishing per UL flammability tests. PVC may be used to temperatures of 140°F (60° C).
